How to select Personalised Workwear

How to select Personalised Workwear

Personalised workwear can make an enormous difference to your job by not only giving you a better, more appropriate & comfortable garment during your working week but also gives your brand an identity.

It’s the selection process which is important - do you work in a hot or cold environment, is it somewhere where your clothes are likely to get dirty or for the most part keep clean? Is the shape of the personalised garment an issue? We have the answers to all your questions!

So which garment to choose? A personalised softshell jacket is a universally useful garment - light to wear as an outer garment which keeps its shape. Design your own means you can add in your relevant logo and with this type of garment best to opt for an embroidered rather than printed personalised garment.

Both printing and embroidery use different techniques to produce different results. Printing is when a design is digitally printed directly onto a piece of clothing. It produces a clean, bright logo that looks smart and works wonderfully well on large designs - especially for complicated logos that stand out brightly against any background. Take a personalised apron for example, lots of room to print on and be effective. Printing is also good for use on thinner fabrics that won’t hold embroidery. Furthermore light colours aren’t suitable for embroidery.

Having said that you are probably thinking that a personalised tshirt won’t withstand embroidery - this isn’t necessarily the case and let’s say you have a simple logo and you’d like this to be embroidered on the left chest of a t-shirt for a uniform, this is entirely possible and a lot of bars & pubs use embroidery for their uniform. Given the choice though, personalised polos are really appropriate for this type of work and when embroidered, look really smart.

A good combination is often a personalised polo which comes in all denominations (value unisex polo, premium unisex polo & fashion polo) with a personalised outer garment - a design your own softshell jacket, a value or even better top quality premium regatta fleece or regatta microfleece. If you just need to keep warm without a full outer garment then a custom fleece gilet bodywarmer is a good choice.

So embroidery looks professional but as discussed not all designs are suitable for this, and the best results are with smaller logos in simple colours.

Another workwear garment for a more casual approach is the personalised hoodie. Again a hoodie looks really smart embroidered as the hoodie material is thick enough to take embroidery. We recommend tshirtstudio premium hoodies - very cosy with a heavyweight UltraSoft Peach Finish fabric and a lovely waffle cosy hood.

Not suitable though for a warm working environment where you’d be better off with either a personalised tshirt or personalised polo. As described the expected use of the garment is a big factor. You may want your company team to have an especially smart look with a design your own varsity jacket. A simple initial or two can work wonders and be so striking on the left breast.

So logo placement, garment colour, thickness & texture of the chosen material all affect design your own garment decision making. Ask our team here at TShirtStudio if you have any queries by emailing our Customer Services team via contact@tshirtstudio.com. Whichever choice you make, it’s a win win situation as branded workwear is a great step for any business or group. Company staff members are immediately identifiable, even without a personal introduction!
